Refund & Warranty Policy
KMC Designs | Effective: 19 June 2026
At KMC Designs we want you to be happy with your purchase. This policy sets out your rights and our
obligations in relation to refunds, returns, exchanges, and warranties. It is in addition to, and does not limit, your
rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement
or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are
also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure
does not amount to a major failure.
2. Major vs Minor Product Failures
2.1 Major failure (your choice of remedy)
A major failure occurs when the product:
• Has a problem that would have stopped you buying it had you known about it.
• Is significantly different from the description or sample shown.
• Is substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot be fixed within a reasonable time.
• Is unsafe.
In the case of a major failure you may choose a full refund, replacement, or repair.
2.2 Minor failure
For a minor failure we may choose to repair, replace, or provide a partial refund at our discretion. We will always
act reasonably and in good faith.
3. Change of Mind Returns
We are not required by law to accept returns for change of mind. However, as a gesture of goodwill we will
accept a change-of-mind return within 14 days of delivery, provided that:
• The item is unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging.
• The item is a standard (non-custom) product from our range.
• You contact us at support@kmcdesigns.com.au before returning the item.
• Return postage costs are at your expense.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item we will issue a store credit or refund (less original shipping costs)
within 5 business days.
4. Custom & Made-to-Order ItemsCustom and personalised items are manufactured specifically for you and cannot be returned or refunded for
change of mind. This does not affect your rights under the ACL — if a custom item arrives faulty, not as
described, or unsafe, you are still entitled to a remedy under sections 1 and 2 of this policy.
5. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at
support@kmcdesigns.com.au with:
• Your order number.
• A clear description of the issue.
• Photographs of the item and packaging where relevant.
We will assess your claim promptly and offer an appropriate remedy under the ACL — repair, replacement, or
full refund including return postage costs (where return is required).
6. Warranty
6.1 Statutory warranty
All products carry the statutory guarantees of acceptable quality, fitness for disclosed purpose, and
correspondence with description under the ACL. These guarantees cannot be excluded or limited.
6.2 Voluntary warranty period
In addition to your statutory rights, KMC Designs offers a 90-day voluntary warranty against defects in materials
and workmanship from the date of delivery. This warranty covers:
• Layer delamination or structural failure under normal use.
• Dimensional defects that render the product unfit for its intended purpose.
• Material defects apparent at the time of manufacture.
6.3 Warranty exclusions
The voluntary warranty does not cover:
• Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, or modification of the product.
• Normal wear and tear, including surface scratches or minor colour fading with UV exposure.
• Damage from exposure to extreme heat (above 60°C), chemicals, or solvents.
• Products that have been repaired or altered by a third party.
• Colour variations between screen display and printed output, which are inherent to the 3D printing process.
To make a warranty claim, contact us at support@kmcdesigns.com.au with your order number and a description
of the defect. We may ask for photographs or return of the item before issuing a remedy.
7. Refund Process
Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on
your bank or payment provider. We will confirm by email when a refund has been issued. We are unable to
refund to a different card or account than the one used for purchase.
8. Return Shipping
For faulty or incorrect items, we will cover reasonable return postage costs (we will provide a prepaid label or
reimburse actual postage on receipt of evidence). For change-of-mind returns, return postage is at yourexpense. We recommend using tracked postage as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in return
transit.
